San Diego MMA (mixed martial arts) Training in Pacific Beach
MMA at American Boxing can be trained as an amateur or professional sport. Our MMA foundations are Muay Thai and Submission Wrestling with extensive knowledge and experience in No Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing and Wrestling.
Our foundation is striking with an excellent history of producing Grappling Champions at Grapplers Quest, Best of the West, The Pan Ams and more, so our ground game is excellent. However, we do prefer our faces and brains the way they are, so superior striking is the #1 Goal at American Boxing! Fighting from the back is not an option for an American Boxing MMA fighter and we train to ensure that is a last case scenario. We’d rather look pretty and lose than have a face that looks like hamburger and pull out a last minute armbar.
We currently do not offer MMA classes for every day fitness seekers. MMA for fitness has the option of personal training with one of American Boxing’s a highly qualified world class coaches and trainers.

Our Pacific Beach MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Gym is an MMA school. Like any true “MMA school”, you learn your stand up and your ground separately. When balance and basics are established, we begin to marry the two, producing a high level Mixed Martial Artist.
